Aransas Pass Aquatic Center
Aransas Pass Aquatic Center - Port Aransas, Texas
While unexpected in a small town, the Aransas Pass Aquatic Center offers plenty of water-based fun and activity for kids and adults. Rather than a standard pool and kiddie pool, the facility goes a few steps further and makes things extra fun for visitors with towering water slides and fun water features.
The over 29,000 square foot facility contains three pools and three large water slides. The center also offers a high dive and low dive. For those who like to climb, there's a rope net. For younger children, there's an impressive 50,000 kiddie pool and kiddie-size water slide, as well as water-raining lily pads for shade and extra entertainment. The center is currently open eight out of the twelve months of the year, from late February to late October and closed for business during November, December, January and most of February. Call 361-758-7770 for specific seasonal hours. The entrance fee is reasonable, with discounts for members of the military, seniors and children. Monthly, annual and summer only passes are available for purchase.
The Aransas Pass Aquatic Center offers various programs for all ages. For adults, the center offers aqua aerobics and lap swim and fitness swim. All of these offerings give adults the opportunity to get fit while enjoying the water. Families can take part in family swim times, play date Tuesdays and infant and parent classes. Family swim times are held for a few hours per evening during certain summer months. Swimming lessons, private swimming lessons, an introduction to lifeguard training and American Red Cross lifeguard training are also available at the center. Guests can also rent the pool for a pool party. Pool party bookings are only available during certain days of the week in the evenings. Participants in American Red Cross Lifeguard training must be 15 years old. Call the center for the current schedule of events and activities. Fees for programs will vary.
